Importing the BOM to FlashPro

The import line option allows users to upload a file containing the Bill of Materials to Flash. To do this:

Step 1: Open the SI where you would like to upload the BOM from an external file.

Step 2: Go to 'Tools' and select 'Import Lines'.

Step 3: A new screen will pop up (as shown below.) Click on the 'Browse' button.

Step 4: Select the file that has the BOM that you would like to import

Step 5: Click on 'Edit' to ensure that all the values of the line items are in right field.

Step 6: Once all your fields look good, you can go back to the 'Import Lines' screen and click on 'Import'. You will be able to see all the imported lines in your Flash SI.

What Does the External File Look Like?

To be able to import lines successfully, your external file must meet the following criteria:

• The file must be a '.txt' file, and
• The file must contain either 'tab space' or a 'pipe' ('|') as the delimiters.
• The order of the values in the text file must match the order of the fields in the import screen.

Text file with 'Tab Space' as the delimiter.

Text file with 'Pipe' as the delimiter.
